Late Spring Mini Stewardess

This week all of the cherry blossoms have fallen off the trees, blanketing cars and walkways in soft pink petals. I love the layers - the variations and contrast of textures and colors - that spring brings. The Late Spring Mini Stewardess is an evolution of my “May” pattern, but in this version each little flower has been hand-cut, painted and dyed, and then riveted to the bag. The branches are simply burned, lending texture, where the hummingbirds have been painted to add a bright burst of color.

As with each of my pieces, this piece is handcrafted from full-grain vegetable tanned tooling leather that I cut, brand, paint and dye by hand before applying a protective topcoat. It is hand-stitched using a waxed nylon thread and a saddle stitch. It has a zippered closure and two handles.

Dimensions: 11” tall by 13” by 3”

This sweet purse is perfect for every-day. Just a smidge smaller than my original Stewardess bag, but still large and lightweight enough that you can fit everything you need in it and not feel weighed down.
