Poppy Moleskine
Poppies were one of my earliest subjects when I started working with leather. I have always loved the delicate petals and incredible array of colors and shapes they find. The Poppy Journal has a cascade of soft, warm, poppies floating from back to front.
The colors in this piece are light yellow, light orange, pink, white, turquoise and antique mahogany. Because I make each piece entirely by hand, and the leather is a natural material that is hand-dyed, some variation is to be expected.
This journal fits books approximately 5.5x8 inches (large moleskine size), and has a snap closure. I will provide a filler book and you can refill it when you run out of space.
I start with a thick tooling leather and cut, brand, paint and dye it before covering it with a protective finish to keep the colors safe. This book has a snap closure.
